What to eat for a better sleep

There’s nothing worse than waking up in the middle of the night or feeling like you haven’t slept at all. Sleep is important to our health and wellbeing. Sleep deficiency can be linked to a number of health problems including a risk of high blood pressure. A key factor to getting a better nights sleep is what you eat.

Here’s some tips on what to eat…

Kiwi

Kiwis are low calorie and very nutritious, containing vitamin C, vitamin E, potassium and folate. It has been suggested that anti-inflammatory antioxidants in kiwis such as vitamin C are responsible for promoting a good nights sleep.

Almonds

Almonds are a healthy evening snack that are high in good fats and low in sugars. They contain a high dose of melatonin, that helps regulate the sleeping and waking cycle.

Bananas

Bananas are a source of magnesium and potassium which help relax stressed muscles. This makes bananas an ideal evening snack.
